Directions to Woodstone in Glen Arbor from Grand Rapids

  1. Take U.S. 131 north toward Cadillac until Michigan Highway 115 (M-115), which is
    Exit #176.
  2. Exit at M-115 and take it north toward Cadillac. (Turn left off the exit ramp onto
M-115.) Go 34 miles north on M-115 to Thompsonville Road. You will pass
Cadillac, Mesick, and Copemish. Thompsonville Road is approximately two miles
beyond Copemish. Look carefully for the sign on your right.
  3. Turn right (north) onto Thompsonville Road (also called County Highway 669 or
Michigan Ave.) and go north on it approximately 12 miles until it meets U.S. 31.
  4. Turn right onto U.S. 31 and travel on it for only one-tenth of a mile. Rejoin County
Highway 669 north, which is the first possible left turn off U.S. 31, just beyond the
    fish hatchery entrance.
  5. Continue north on County Highway 669 for a total of approximately ten miles,
watching for a left turn after five miles. (Five miles beyond U.S. 31, County Highway
669 jogs left. Follow it left where you see a white house, formerly a school house and
easy to overlook.) Watch carefully for this left turn. After the left turn, stay on
County 669 for another five miles until it intersects M-72.
  6. Turn left (west) onto M-72 and drive on it for approximately one mile. At the flashing
yellow light, continue on M-72 to your left, heading west.
  7. From the flashing yellow light, drive 5 miles west on M-72 to Benzonia Tr. (County
    Highway 677) toward Glen Arbor.
  8. Turn right on County Highway 677 and drive north 3.3 miles to a stop sign at M-22
(also called Glenmere Road at this stop sign).
  9. At the stop sign turn right onto M-22 and follow it as it curves immediately left,
Passing between two lakes ("the narrows" between Big Glen Lake and Little Glen
Lake.) From the stop sign before the curve into "the narrows," drive 1.8 miles north)
on M-22. Exit onto Sunset by going straight ahead where M-22 curves to the left.
(Measure the mileage exactly and watch carefully for this fork so that you do not
mistakenly follow M-22 as it curves to the left. Sunset is easy to miss.)
  10. Drive on Sunset (northeast) one-half mile to where it curves left to become Lake Street
  11. Follow Lake Street to your left (northwest) for three-tenths of a mile to the
Woodstone entrance on your right. (The Woodstone entrance is two-tenths of a mile
straight ahead beyond the stop sign at Northwood.)
